It was time to move from guess work and assumptions, to a data driven approach. An exceptional space needs to go beyond beautiful design and the best way to ensure a space truly excels for its users, is by creating a Smart Building, that continuously collects data and puts real usage information at the heart of its operations.

Putting people first

As a people business, CubicWorks were also looking for ways to further enhance their commitment to ESG compliance, minimising their environmental impact and improving the working lives of their internal and external teams. They wanted to provide healthier and more comfortable workspaces to create happy and productive teams.

CubicWorks knew the power of data but needed the experts to help them realise these results.

The Solution

Origin were brought in as the experts in smart building controls, data aggregation and automation. The team were tasked with creating a truly smart building for CubicWorks.
Implementing their unique solution

Origin take the existing BMS and aggregate the untapped data and readings into the cloud. Using API’s, they connect IoT sensors and cutting edge IoT control units, such as actuators, thermostatic controls and environmental sensors and controls into the mix.

They created a seamless integration that allows for automations to be created from the unified data now being collected. CubicWorks can now use the wealth of information at their fingertips to visualise that data and understand how their spaces are used with powerful 3D graphic dashboards and live reporting.

The star of the show is the Origin dynamic dashboard visualisation, that gives the CubicWorks team a live view of the building and its usage. 

From parking space and meeting room utilisation, to monitoring water pipe temperatures, HVAC utilisation and Co2 and environmental conditions (as well as windows and door opening). The Origin implementation allows for the workspaces to run optimally, with smart building controls for minimal manual intervention and optimal asset uptime, maximising asset lifespans, reducing Co2 and increasing comfort for all occupants and users.
